Biography
Good music has no genre.
Sportacore's sets are usually characterized by playful transitions, a mix of old and new, and a multitude of tracks in a short amount of time.
Even as a child, Sportacore was always surrounded by a wide variety of music genres through his parents, which is often reflected in his DJ sets today. His youth was also shaped by various nightlife cultures: starting with the mainstream club disco, moving on to the psy-trance and also the tekno scene, he eventually felt at home in the harder styles scene, although the rather younger neo rave genre would also play a role later on.
Even before he tried his hand at being a DJ himself, Sportacore was always keen to support the scene out of passion and thus keep alternative music alive. In October 2016, his interest in music and DJing became so great that at the age of 21, he finally bought his first DJ controller. This was followed by two years of intensive practice within his own four walls, during which he taught himself the basics of mixing.
Particularly formative during this initial phase was his close connection to the Viennese club Fluc, where he stood behind local and international DJs almost every weekend as an attentive observer, taking every opportunity to analyze techniques and discover new musical concepts. This hands-on learning and constant curiosity were crucial for his development.
The first public performance as “Sportacore” was a DJ set at the Fluc Deck on August 11, 2018, serving as the afterparty for the Shutdown Festival. Since then, he has supported international headliners of the scene at numerous events in the Fluc Wanne. Gradually, other performance opportunities arose outside of Fluc, and over time Sportacore developed a preference for closing sets.
Sportacore is part of the music collectives “Überdruck Soundsystem” and “Streamlines Records”.
